Here’s a quick update and a glimpse of our 2025 plans.

Merchandise

Podcast

We’re well on our way to producing episode 3 of “Bringing the Heat.” As part of our mission to include more artists and talents in all String Zero Project media (as much as we can afford, at least), this one will include even more voice talent than the previous episode.

In general, we’re going to try and release a podcast in-between every major release of the String Zero game to keep content for the franchise fresh.

We’re also taking some risks with our narrative storytelling through the podcast, slowly stepping away from “just a fun in-universe series of newscasts for extra lore” to its own story happening in parallel to the main game (part radio drama, part news cast satire). It’s nothing that’s required to understand anything happening in the game, but if you enjoy the game’s universe and want to experience more of how people live in it, check out “Bringing the Heat!”

Game Releases

Presently, Chapter 4 of the game is scheduled to be released towards the end of February. Our timelines are always a little flexible to give our artists time to complete all the required assets. For 2025, we are again going to try for 4 major releases, one chapter each. (This past year we managed 2 chapters in 3 releases.)

We’re still building up our bank of permanent assets (sprites, music, etc.) so this plan is subject to change. As I’ve said before, once we complete the full suite of sprite work for all major characters, we’ll be able accelerate our timelines, but we aren’t there yet.

Your Support

Keep in mind that everything I’ve mentioned continues to be contingent on your support. If our revenue through patreon, etc. begins to wane, we’ll have to slow down production for everything. Presently, I still fund a great deal of the game out of pocket, and while this was fine for 2023-24, I will no longer be able to do this sustainably in 2025.
